In February 2019, Opportunity, the Mars exploration rover(MER-B) officially completed its mission on Mars. Although NASA anticipated Opportunity to last 90 Martian Days at first, Opportunity had performed its mission of exploring Martian space during 5596 days since its Mars landing in February 2004. Actually there was another rover MER-A, which had been eclipsed by the unexpected long endurance of Opportunity, named ‘Spirit’. As a twin rover of Opportunity, Sprit arrived on Mars earlier than Opportunity and peformed its mission impressively as to continued research and to send the feeder information of Mars after becoming unavailable to travel. Although Sprit was initially designed to last just 15 days using low-level fuselage and went on to function over twenty times longer than NASA’s expectation, its long endurance of 5 years seems small besides Opportunity’s record. Spirit, who was plunged in the unknown world with few expectations, who had to continue research until to become completely dead, and who was passed into oblivion because of the twin brother. of Collective Doingle is a story about living beings who “don’t have evident purpose of existence and just live for nothing.”

Collective Doingle Around has been formed trying to break the narcissistic convention of theatre-making. We believe the essence of performing arts is sensuous communication and interaction based on co-presence, while we constantly question these assumptions about arts. Holding these assumptions, we work seeking interesting physicality and spatiality, also we play inquiring into Meaning and Truth. Our attention lies with gathering and inviting, talking and listening, drawing and designing, acting and spectating, etc. and these diversity of our artistic languages make our work to look kind of ‘interdisciplinary.’
