The Sea Gull Team Muammmmuak

  • Running Time :60Min
  • Rated :All Ages Admitted
  • Description

The so-called quintessence of classics, Chekhov's 'The Seagull' is what we are going to perform for the festival. In the collective need of 'making a play', we have started practice but it is way too hard for us to fully relate to the characters' decisions in 'The Seagull' and our opposite interpretations toward them confuse us.

Like the characters who struggled to reach one another, we, these four crews keep talking, listening, persuading, pondering and moving so that we can understand each one of us, plus how those characters felt and made decisions.

Would it be possible for us to understand the characters and even ourselves?
What significance does a classic have in these days?
Being non-professional actors, why do we want to speak of ourselves through a 'play'?

  • Group

We met each other at the school theater club. There we have produced plays and shared our thoughts apart and together.
Due to the aggravating COVID-19 pandemic, all school group activities are entirely banned as well as the theater, which comes to a complete standstill.
We feel our growing desire for a play (theater) as this halt gets longer.
Although the current circumstance kept us from working on a large-scale project, these four colleagues became the team under the one, common desire to perform a play and the one objective: ¡®Seoul Fringe Festival¡¯. Through both our deliberation toward the theater and the space ¹®ÈºñÃà±âÁö, we look forward to earnestly showing fresh and candid attempts.
